๐ขSupporting Lebanese Guests in Iraq - Housing Support for Guests in Najaf
The constantly shifting political situation in the region has meant that more and more displaced persons are arriving from Syria with large groups arriving in Najaf and Karbala. This has led to a strain the resources to host these groups in these cities. To assist the remaining Lebanese guests still in Iraq, we have expanded our activities to include the provision of housing support for 25 Lebanese Guests in Najaf.
These guests will be supported to find suitable employment in the local area to sustain their own housing needs when the project ends with several already employed. 5 properties were rented in Najaf for a period of 2 months in order to facilitate this support.

๐ฉโ๐พ Field Visit: Our Executive Director Michela Maccabruni, alongside ASE`s Executive Director Aynalem Ashebier, Programme Manager Micheal John, and Field Office Manager Demrew Wossenyeleh, conducted an in-depth inspection of the solar-powered irrigation system.
๐ System Operation Review: Michela closely observed the water pumping process, assessing its efficiency, solar energy utilisation, and maintenance needs. She engaged directly with the supplier and field staff, asking key questions about system durability, water pressure consistency, and long-term maintenance strategies.
๐ฌ Community Engagement: She also led discussions with local farmers, gathering insights on how the irrigation system is transforming their farming practices, as well as their concerns and aspirations for sustainable water access.

Over the past week, Safe Haven Syria has continued its mission to provide essential healthcare and protection services for women and children in Qabbasin, Al-Bab district, Aleppo Governorate.

With 63 people on the waiting list, the demand for healthcare services is growing rapidly. However, funding shortages threaten the continuity of the project. We need your support to keep the center operational and extend our services to those in urgent need.

Women and children in Syriaโs rural areas lack access to essential medical and psychological care due to financial and logistical barriers. Safe Haven Syria ensures that they receive quality physiotherapy, mental health support, and awareness sessions on child protection and gender-based violence (GBV).

While our partners at @iraqi_telemedicine_center and @mercy_path_for_women_affairs have continued their vital work in providing much needed consultations and follow up to Lebanese gusts in Najaf and Karbala.
Last week, the final batch of treatment was prepared and distributed also the medical and psychological support was provided for more than 175, ITC
have reached the target. Gynecological examinations and simple surgical procedures was done for 6 ladies, an ophthalmological examination was done for 30 cases.
